More Than a Brand: How Caribbean At Heart Found Its Identity

More Than a Brand: How Caribbean At Heart Found Its Identity

If you've read our About page, you'll know that Caribbean At Heart began with a feeling.

The feeling of missing home while living overseas.

The feeling of carrying your culture with you, even when you're thousands of miles away.

That feeling eventually grew into a question, then an idea and a vision.

What if there was a brand that celebrated all of it?

Not just one island or one type of Caribbean person or one age group and what if we could also include those who weren’t born here but just keep coming back.

Finding the right name took time. I filled pages with ideas, but none of them felt quite right or some were taken. Some were too narrow or focused only on one island.

Then one day, Caribbean At Heart hit me.

The heart is the centre of life. It keeps us going. In many ways, culture does the same. It keeps us connected to our families, our traditions, our memories, and to one another, no matter where in the world we are.

That is what being Caribbean At Heart means to me.

It means carrying home with you or hearing the opening notes of a soca song and instantly smiling.

It means craving your grandmother's cooking after months away or teaching your children the sayings you grew up hearing.

Once the name was chosen, the logo had to tell the same story.

Every element was chosen with intention.

The heart sits at the centre because love is what brings everything together.

The sun reminds us of the warmth that welcomes us home.

The sea connects every island while reminding us that, although we're separated by water, we've always been connected by culture.

The music notes celebrate the sounds of Caribbean life, soca, reggae, dancehall, calypso, kompa, zouk, chutney, merengue, and the countless rhythms that have shaped generations.

The breadfruit branch honours nourishment, resilience, and community. For centuries, breadfruit has brought people together around the table, and that same spirit of sharing is woven into everything we hope to create.

The hummingbird represents adaptability, hope, and joy. Small but resilient, it feels like the perfect symbol for Caribbean people everywhere, building lives across the world while never losing sight of home.

Together, these elements became something much bigger than a logo.

Because whether your roots are in Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Haiti, Dominica, Curaçao, Martinique, Belize, Guyana, or anywhere else across our beautiful region, there is a thread that connects us all.

Our stories may be different.

Our accents may change from island to island.

But our warmth, resilience, creativity, and love of community speak the same language.

Caribbean At Heart exists to celebrate all of it.
